Build A Bridge in A Month

Hit by an out-of-control fleet, the Gecko Bridge connecting Shanhe Island in Yangzhou and Wantou Town in Guangling District collapsed into the water. The bridge is the only land passage connecting Shanhe Island to the outside world, with more than 2,000 residents on the island.After the accident, in order to ensure the travel of Shanhe Island residents as soon as possible, a temporary steel bridge has been built with a service life of 2 years.

The iron cavalry team, various driving teams, and residents' representatives slowly passed through the steel bridge over the Gecko River, which also marked that the residents on both sides of Shanhe Island finally ended their one-month travel by temporary ferry.

The new steel bridge is located 10 meters upstream of the original site of the Gecko Bridge and is assembled through a beret. The length of the steel bridge is basically the same as the original bridge. The new bridge has a net width of 8 meters and a length of 220 meters. Its designed bearing capacity is 50 tons, which is 5 times that of the original old bridge. It can be used for motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles and pedestrians to pass at the same time. Previously, load tests have been done with large trucks.
