A Special Type 321 Footbridge in Mozambique Was Successfully Erected

The type 321 footbridge specially built by Great Wall Group for Mozambique has been successfully constructed. The length of the bridge is 35 meters. Its maximum single span is 17 meters and bridge deck clear width is 2 meters. It is made with design scheme of 321 type single row single layer. The installation of the bridge is completed by local assembling and hoisting method.

The whole bridge is mainly composed of 321 bailey panels (also called bailey beam, bailey frame), strengthening strings, beams, bridge panels, wind resistance rods, Yin and Yang head end columns, support frames, connecting plates, pins, truss bolts, beam fixtures, U-bolts, bridge seat and seat plate.  

With the development of the international market, some customers will require the production of bailey in British system size. The size of bailey panel is 3.048m x 1.45m, and the international model commonly known as CB100 or Compact-100.

The type 321 prefabricated steel bridge is a fast assembled bridge designed by highway Planning and Design Institute of ministry of Communications, based on the original British bailey truss bridge.It is a kind of decomposable standard bridge which can be erected quickly , the whole bridge is made of high strength steel welding.The main beam is a decomposable light truss, which is connected by a single pin, with strong interchangeability of components, light weight, convenient transportation, disassembly and assembly. It can also be assembled into various types of prefabricated steel bridge according to the span and load requirements. It is a relatively perfect composite prefabricated steel bridge for emergency traffic support which is widely used.Because the steel plate of the bridge is thinner and the size of the beam is lighter, it is generally suitable for the case of small load.
