What are the types of steel structure bridges

(1) Suspension bridge. Suspension bridges are generally large-span bridges, with a theoretical maximum span of up to 4 kilometers, and they are also one of the preferred types of bridges over kilometers. The suspension bridge supports the upper part of the bridge through the main cable on the pylon and the cables anchored on both banks. The cable is the most important load-bearing component. Due to the force balance condition, the suspension bridge forms a cable shape close to a parabola from the middle to the two banks. A suspension rod is hung from the cable to hang the bridge deck, and a stiffening beam is set between the suspension rod and the bridge deck. The combination of the two can effectively reduce the deflection and deformation of the bridge caused by the load. The more famous suspension bridges in my country include Sanchaji Bridge, Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge and Nanjing Fourth Yangtze River Bridge.
(2) Cable-stayed bridge. Or called a cable-tensioned bridge, its structure is relatively simple, mainly composed of stay cables, main beams and pylons. This kind of bridge fixes all stay cables through the pylons and connects them to the girder body through stay cables for the purpose of bearing pressure. In cable-stayed bridges, the cables play the role of a multi-span elastically supported continuous beam instead of buttresses. This kind of bridge construction method can effectively reduce the inner bending distance of the beam body and reduce the height of the building at the same time. Make the overall structure lighter and consume less material. The more famous suspension bridges in my country are the Baishazhou Yangtze River Bridge, the Second Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, the Third Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, the Shanghai Yangpu Bridge and the Shanghai Xupu Bridge.
(3) Steel arch bridge. Steel arch bridge is also one of the most common steel structure bridges. The load-bearing structure is mainly arch ribs, which bear the axial force, and the bending moment is small or there is no bending moment. In the construction of the steel arch bridge, the main arch is made of multiple steel pipes, and the beams and the main arch can be separately hoisted and welded on site. This can not only effectively solve the problem of one-time hoisting of excessive weight, but also greatly facilitate on-site construction. Shortening the construction period also plays an important role. The more famous steel arch bridges in my country include Guangzhou Yajisha Bridge, Sichuan Wanxian Yangtze River Bridge and Chongqing Wujiang Bridge.
